If UK citizen, no visa required, just come over on a package deal. Get a car though as Canada is quite big.

Opps just seen Aucklando as OP place of residence, visitor it is then, unless you is a UKdian.

Hi there no I am a UK ciziten born and bred in the UK just living here in auckland at the moment my wife to be is a fiance!

I want to work and live in canada and the process in moving to canada seems very lenghty and very time consuming! every approach to moving to canada has required a job offer is this correct?

If I came on a 1 year working holiday visa can I still apply for a work permit or PR once I've obtained work over there?

Depends what you do. If you are on "The List" you dont need a job offer, but otherwise you are about right assuming you are not wealthy and dont have family here.

Some people come on a working holiday visa and manage to leverage it into a longer term stay, but its no mean feat to find a willing employer and have everything in place on a tight timeline.

I though Airplane / visitor visa was bang on the money to be honest. Whats the appeal of Canada for you?

I like the lifestyle,,,,,good economy and closer to home! my sister just moved to nova scotia last year and my fiance has family in canada too!

I like Canada, much nice than the states. I've been to the states numerous times.........
I work as a Business Analyst so am not sure if this profession would require a visa or not?

I didn't think canada would be that hard for UK citizens to move there on a perm basis

I guess economies are all relative...In general terms anyone wanting to work in Canada needs a Visa or residency status, with only a few exceptions.

UK citizens dont get a free ride, not sure they ever did.

Could your fiancées family sponsor her? That might be a back door way in for you, once married.

Why make it harder than you have to? If the option is there then its worth exploring at least.

Im an engineer, Lifestyle is only as good as your income and expenses allow when you get down to the bones. Employment market is not great at the moment, but maybe not as bad as some other places. If its strong in your field thats a positive, as long as they are real jobs.
