Gilbert and Sullivan
For the last three weeks, ending last night Saturday 20 Aug 11, there has taken place in...

....which is the administrative centre for the District of...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeftatQxH1w...
...High Peak which is in the county of....

Derbyshire...in the north Midlands of....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hpnRAs0mp4
...the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival.....
...and naturally enough one of the many shows which took place twice daily at the Opera House was this one.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhPiz...eature=related
.....HMS Pinafore....this year this inluded a Youth production, performed by the youngest members of the G & S Society, most of them between 16 and 21...on 6 August.
.....and the one number from this show reminds me of many of you fellow Brits out there in far away places with strange sounding names and in spite of your decision to live in those far away countries with all those weird names perhaps, in spite of all temptations to belong to other nations, you may still consider yourselves as remaining an Englishman (sadly W S Gilbert failed to make allowances for Englishwomen or both Scotsmen/women and Welshmen/women)........you will just have to adapt the words if you are female, Scottish or Welsh.
