Default Brit missing in Laos

For those who have not heard the news there is a young Brit who has gone missing on 19th November 2013 while swimming in a river in Laos.
His name is John Paul Conley.
His friends and family are funding his search.
This post is just to draw attention to those in the expat community who may be able to offer words of support or can help in any way.

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice to offer. I do know that currents can be strong in places. In Thailand where I used to live, there used to be so many tourist deaths and still it happens, where tourists just ignore the red flags.

I'm not sure we have too many posters on here in Laos, but you never know.
