Default I-751 quick question

Hi all,
Did anybody sent I-751 package via FedEx or UPS? I'm trying to do it
online and am getting a message that none of them deliver to the PO
BOX 850965, ZIP 75185-0965 which is BCIS TSC in Mesquite TX ???

BTW, here's what I put in (all copies no originals):
- the I-751 form itself
- copies of the passport and AOS approval
- copies of I-90 (green cards got lost in mail(???) - reapplied,
application still processing since 9/02
- joint tax returns for the last 2 years
- joint lease on the house for more that 2 years
- pay stubs/ emp. information forms showing married status
- retirement plans showing each other as beneficiary
- joint bank account statements randomly selected for the last 2 yrs
or so
- some bills in both names randomly selected through years
- insurance notes showing both names as operators
- health/dental insurance cards for all of us showing all names
(myself, husband, daughter)
- letters from friends - the same people who wrote letters for AOS
- a few photos (don't like taking pictures...;o)
- a few cards from family and friends

Do you guys think that would do?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions - finger crossing is highly
appreciated since I'm afraid that the whole package may get lost
somewhere in the PO BOX that FedEx does not deliver to...;o(

Take care

You need the street address if you send it by FedEx or UPS.
If it is a post office box, you can always use Express Mail from the US
Postal Service.

Your list looks fine. We used USPS registered mail with return receipt. Certified mail with return receipt works just as well...

Not once in five years have we ever used overnight delivery service for any of the applications/petitions sent to INS/BCIS or the US Consulate. Have always used certified mail, return receipt requested as Ranjini has. It's been my experience that getting it there the next day doesn't make any difference in how fast they will enter your package into their computers. For me having the green return receipt in my hands after delivery was a security blanket and one more item for my ever increasing file.

Sounds like a comprehensive package to me ;-0)

We sent our original application for the I-130/I-485 USPS overnight, but the I-751 & N-400 we sent certified priority mail with return receipt. Got the same response time as the overnight mail did.

Hi:

WE generally use USPS certified mail return receipt requested -- in fact, we sometimes will use it for LOCAL submission [our office and BCIS on the opposite ends of LA's "Red Line" subway -- so about 15 minutes apart] in order to generate a return receipt even though we know it will get delayed in the mail room..

If it is TRULY time sensitive -- e.g. a jurisdictional deadline -- we use some type of overnite delivery with tracking [OverNiteExpress within California -- cheaper than UPS/FedEx and 9 pm pickup from the box].

This reminds me of a firm I worked with for a while in the 80's -- INS [BCIS] generally has a "actual receipt" rule for date of filing, while in the Labor Certificate arena, a "mailbox rule" applies to filings other than the intial filing. This firm had primarily a Chinese/Taiwanese clientele who were enamored with the word "guarantee." So at the client's insistence, the firm's paralegals would send things via FedEx. I went to put a stop to that -- and was informed that clients paid the extra FedEx fees in order to get that "guranteed" delivery. It was a battle, but I convinced the clients that the "guarantee" was worthless in this situation -- although USPS did not quarantee delivery, if there was a failure of delivery, all we had to do was prove that we had mailed the little sucker -- and the certified mail proof of mailing would be just fine for that. However, if FedEx lost it and there was a failure of delivery -- the labor cert would be gone because the response had NOT been timely "mailed" and there had been no timely receipt either. And quess what FedEx would do in that case -- you'd get your $10 back -- their guarantee express disallows "consequential" damages.

Thanks to all of you who replied. I sent the package USPS express
w/return receipt - now I'll bite my fingernails until the little green
card is received (LOL). I was reading about TSC computer problems and
delays recently, and that together with our green cards mess didn't
boost my cinfidence. However, if anybody is interested, here's our
timeframe:

- Married in March/2001
- AOS approved in August/2001 (super fast in New Orleans, was
pleasantly
surprised)
- green cards never arrived, checked with local office early Sep 2002,
was
told they were mailed in 9/2001 (no change of address in the
meantime,
never lost a piece of mail)
- September/2002 applied for repl. green card (the ADIT photographer
said "it
happens all the time...;o)"), complained so the fees were waived
- got NOA only for the spouse after 2 weeks, never for the child
- mailed I-751 package yesterday

That's about it. I look at this as a step 2, next year will send N-400
and wait, and then hopefully will never have to deal with immigration
again...;o)
