Hi All, I'm moving to Vancouver next week and was just wanting some feedback on my resume.

I've changed my c.v. so that it matches the resume format, but would just like to hear some second opinions.

Too condensed. Increase the paragraph spacing to 6-10 points. You have plenty of room and still keep it to 2 pages.

Take off you hobbies and interests and just leave that on your LinkedIn profile (that's what I have done)

I had to really condense my resume down as it was over 2 pages ( I like writing essays unfortunately

Put your skills at the top and your education at the end.

I'd also work some more achievements into your intro.

The average resume is glanced at for only 6 seconds. Your skills are everything. Now that you have work experience your distinguished education is more of an after thought and box tick.

I think you have done a good job keeping it clean and highlighting what you have done...

You should extend what you have done into what was the business benefit if possible.

An example (and of course I am making the second bit up)...

You have - "Researched new technologies, APIs and Methodologies"

Could be - "Researched new technologies, APIs and Methodologies which assisted in reducing development time by 35%"

Also, there is no comprehension of UK companies or universities here - so you will need to be a little more specific. So if you worked for Tesco (again making this up) you would need to say how big the company and IT development team was to give them a sense of scale and scope - as compared to a two person company with a one person development team etc.

- budgetary / financial responsibility?

- you should likely include brief tangible examples of achievements, in terms of successes & project delivery to time lines


based on recent experience Canadian employers seem to like quantifiable / demonstrable experience in terms of numbers, volume, & direct examples, and "added value".

When I opened it, it appeared as size A4.
I recommend changing it to "US Letter" page size
