If you point at the ground where the dead donkey is, you get to see it stuck halfway in limbo between living and dead.

Donkeys roll in the dust just like horses. The car passes the donkey and the donkey then has a roll in the dust

It seems to just be laying in the dust the further you pull away no movement - just pretty much dead - Poor Donkey

yes, if you get to the scroll where the donkey just disappears from view, and then turn to the right, you can see the donkey walking away down a side road.
