Cottaging
I asked the gobby neighbour what he had been up to recently and he told me he had been cottaging all weekend, to which I replied if he had taken his dog and been dogging too. He said "Yes, my wife and I also went dogging"
My son (19) nearly shat himself! Haha

I know they very touchy about things like that, especially when you keep bringing it up at a party after having drunk a bottle and a half of their zinfandel.

I had that coversation at work too, my how we laughed! I laughedeven more when they asked me what British people said instead. Complete bafflement about the rareity of second homes. There was another thing about the UK not having any ferries, that made me laugh.

I don't really find that fair...if some ghastly foreigner in the UK took the piss out of you because you don't understand some horrid Caribbean patois, you would, no doubt, complain? You came here...either speak their language or don't, but you don't get the chance to gain the higher ground IMHO?

No I don't find it nasty but am open to persuasion. I find seeing a magasine called "Cottaging" funny in a basic British humour way. There is no mocking of Canadians involved in that any more than a Canadian laughing at Brits saying they are "going out for a fag", or my co workers gigghling when I say trolley instead of stretcher. It isn't taking the piss in any way but enjoying the differences.

Someone with.a real computer should post up the dogging youtube from Fascinating Aida. Unlike the news this isn't life or death.
Oh Edit, 20 minutes late I get the bright idea to google cottaging - it means something different here.
