Citizenship question
I hope I can get some help on this question about citizenship. I am a British citizen, My daughter who is 23 yrs old. she was born in the USA and have lived here all her life. We did move to England when she was 6 for a about 3 months, She did go to school and was on my passport. We plan on moving back to the UK and my question would be, does she get UK citizen automatically through me or does she have to apply for visa or naturalization?

Re: Citizenship question
She is already a UK citizen, she was on your passport way back when she was a little one, just apply for a new one for her. I don't suppose you still have that old one she was on do you? I had to send mine in with Ds on when I applied for his first a few years back, but without it they just want more paperwork, US birth certificate, etc etc.

Re: Citizenship question
As your daughter has never had a passport of her own, she will need to submit a first time application to the Embassy in Washington.

Re: Citizenship question
My daughter also is a British Citizen by Descent born and raised in USA , Iam British moved to USA 25 yrs ago. She is going to do her semester abroad in Sept , and may extend it for a year program. She applied for the British passport as it was cheaper and less complex than the 1 yr stdent visa. We sent all the forms off April 22 nd, passport arrived May 30th via DHL, We sent her birth cert, my birth cert, my marriage cert, copies of her CA drivers license and crrent USA passport it all went very smoothly, cost was $230
