Default Query about ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO Code- 261111)

I have been doing job in IT sector since last 6 years. My work area is Network, System and Security Administration and it is also related to Organization's Business Analysis and requirement fullfillment. Previously, my skill was assessed by ACS as "Network Security Specialist (ASCO Code 2231-79) " on 29 April' 2010. Now in the Schedule-3 or Schedule-4 , it is not there. So, I am very much worried to choose the right ANZSCO Code.

Now can I apply for fresh skill assessment as " ICT Business Analyst" (ANZSCO Code- 261111, Schedule-3) based on my work experience and skill areas?

Does this occupation match my skills ?

Or it matches only for Software professionals?

I will be grateful if any senior member /Expert gives a positive opinion.

Thanks and regards

I want also to apply under 'Applications and Analyst Programmer' , but i don't know from where to start, i have my MIS qualification taken outside Australia so should i have to directly apply to ACS assessment or use AEI-NOOSR to assess my qualification first. if this is done the Management Information System qualification will be taken as an ICT or not, your responses is so valuable to me and the forum as well.

Wookiee06,

Thanks for your reply.

Computer Network and Systems Engineer (ANZSCO 263111) is existed only in Schedule-4. But ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO Code- 261111) is existed in both Schedule-3 and Schedule-4. So, there is opportunity in both 175 and 176 Category.

So my question is that, does my overall job duties match with the requirement of ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO Code- 261111) ?
If so, then I shall apply to ACS for skill assessment with this Code as soon as possible.
Otherwise I have to think for Computer Network and Systems Engineer (ANZSCO 263111).

Your valuable suggestions/opinions will help me to take a solid decision.

Thanks and best regards

Srhjafry,

Still I can not take decision for new ACS assessment under ICT Business Analyst(261111). Senior Member Wookie gave some idea and helped me to think more about it. Now, I am trying to gather idea from some people who got ACS Assessment (2231-79, Network Security Specialist) previously and recently got ACS Re-assessment under the ICT Business Analyst (261111).

You just keep checking the threads/posts related to ICT Business Analyst in this forum. I think you will also be able to find your solution. If I make my decision then I will inform you.

Hi wookie,

what do you think of this? I've been assessed as 2231-79 (nec) back in December 2009 and I am now going for a reassessment as a BA. This is what I am doing and what my boss is also willing to sign and stamp. This is just a reference for the last 2 years, all in all I've been professionally working in the IT since 8 years.

Do you think the ACS will accept this and assess me as a BA ?
