Income Tax
Can anyone tell me what the rate of income tax would be in Oz, on a gross
income of between A$ 40-50K, and what other deductions I should take into
account?
Thanks

Re: Income Tax
The tax tables can be found on www.ato.gov.au Other than income tax, there
shouldn't be any further deductions from your take home pay. Please note
that employers are compelled to pay a 9% Superannuation Guarantee Levy into
your personal superannuation (pension) fund on your behalf. The job ads
should specify whether superannuation is included or excluded from the
advertised remuneration.

Mike

Thanks, everyone, who replied to my original post on this. There are some
really useful calculation tables on all these sites.

Depends on how you wanna live and where... but since you are single, go to any college website and click "international students". When I was looking up cost of living in Australia, lots of university sites came up and they had estimates of how much a single person needs to live in [insert city here].
Hope that helps.
