Is it even possible to have diverse fauna and flora in vast open ranges in the UAE ? Isn't it just too bloody hot for that style of zoo ? Omani climate always appeared quite a bit milder than the UAE but don't really know if it's still too hot for the aforementioned type of zoo.
In that case, Al Ain must be the most improved zoo in the world. Deanetta and I went earlier this year and thought it was superb. Every enclosure seemed to have more than enough room for the animals and it wasn't obvious that any species were absent.

What Dubai lacks:
  • A long term plan for virtually everything.
  • Well planned parking for commercial buildings, especially in older areas.
  • Covered pavements so you can walk around more when it's hot.
  • More small parks and play areas in the build up areas.
  • Separation of religion and state

Something like this, but there will be an Ethnic hierarchy where certain ethnics will hog the waves and others will barely get the chance.
