It is a bit late now but, I tried the new brunch at the Alta Badia restaurant (used to be the Vu restaurant) in the Emirates Towers hotel. It was fabulous,if you like Italian food, a la carte menu, lovely prosecco and wines and the most amazing dessert platter ever then I strongly recommend it. Great jazz singer too. From 198dhs up to 398dhs for prosecco, wine, etc. This was the dessert platter for 2 people 
I know that you *Mentalist... are a cheapskate and wouldn't go but for all the 'normal'people, definitely 1 to try.
