Alright, so here are the details of my adventure...
![]() I got to the consulate at 12:25, showed the guards my appointment letter, and they told me that I would have to wait until 12:45 for them to let me in. Came back at 12:45, stood in line outside, went through security check, and went to sit inside. I had my appointment for 1pm, but nobody showed up until around 1:08, when they told us all to give them our appointment letters. There were 4 appointments for K1s, and I was the only one for a K3. Around 1:40 they called me to the window to check if I had all the papers in order, which I did. And then around 2:40 they called me for the actual interview. The guy was pretty strict in the way to question me and very big about details. The questions he asked me where: Where did you meet? Where on the internet? What were you doing on that chat room? And then what happened? (wanted details about the evolution of our relationship from there...At that point he wasn't asking any specific questions and just expected me to talk, which was sort of hard to do, since I didn't exactly know what he wanted to know!). Then he asked me how I had paid for all my plane tickets and my expenses on my trips to America, he asked about my school and my scholarship and whatnot. He then asked about why the discrepancy between the time when Josh proposed and the wedding date (2 years after: Josh wanted to graduate before we got married), where the wedding took place, which town, who attended. Then he asked if I had any pictures of it (SO GLAD I HAD TAKEN MY WEDDING ALBUM!!!), and I think that finally convinced him so he told me I could go sit down, that it should be another 30 mins (I assumed "it" meant the visa!). Around 3:20, they started calling each of us individually to the window to give us our visa. I was given my passport back, embellished with the very-much desired K3 VISA!!! I was ecstatic. She also gave me the brown envelope, and some info about permanent residence, in case I decided to get it through the Paris Consulate instead of adjust status, and some papers about SSN (but for permanent residents...Not very relevant in my case). Anyway, all the 4 K1ers got their visas except an Algerian, to whom they told that he got it but that they still had to put under administrative review. SO I GOT IT!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!! I booked my flight to Mobile, AL for MONDAY (POE: Houston)!!! HUBBY HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Thanks guys for all your advice and support!!! If not for this forum, I wouldn't have brought my wedding album, for example!! ![]()
