Default Interview at Paris consulate. Got our K1 visa.

I got my k-1 visa today at the Paris consulate, everything went smooth.
I had my interview at 1:00 PM. they started to let people in at 12:45 AM, checked passport, interview letters etc...
One employee asked everybody for all the appointment letters and those who hadn't payed the 100 Euros fee yet had to do so. There were 2 other k1 with me, 2 girls. We were all told that the 2 pictures needed had to be front pictures, and not the ADIT style (3/4). There is a photo booth inside the consulate. It costs 4 euros to take 2 pictures which are the required size.
I was then called to give all my papers:
- passport
- 2 photos
- the 100 euros receipt showing that i transfered money on the consulate account.
- Military record
- Police record
- Birth certificate
- Affidavit of support
- Letter from her employer
- Letter from her bank
- 2002 tax return
- 2 DS-156, 1 DS-156k, 1 DS-157 and the oath paper stating I intend to get married within the 90 days upon my arrival in the US. (Don't sign it before she asks, same for all the forms by the way....).

Then she told me to take a seat and that I will be called for the interview.
The interview started at 2:30 PM. She first gave me back the pictures we had submitted with the I-129F petition. It was a bit difficult to hear the officer as she was not talking very loud and the microphone she was using seemed to have a problem. I made her repeat her questions a few times.
She asked me:
- How did we meet? I told her we met over the internet and then she asked me how many girls I actually chated with on the internet. She looked a bit suspicious. I told her few.
- When did we meet?
- What's her job?
- what's your job?
- How old is your fiance?
- How old are you?
- What's her parent's job?
She said that i have visited my fiancee a lot ( 5 times during a 2.5 years period). She asked if I have ever had any problems with an officer at the customs. I said no. She said, did they ever ask you the purpose of your trip and what did you tell them? I replied that everytime I said that I was visiting my girlfriend. She really seemed surprised that they let me in so many times without questioning too much my intentions.
Then she told me to wait and that I will be given the visa. I waited another 15 minutes and then I finally got it. The lady gave me some info about what i had to do now, get married, apply for AOS etc...
We chated a bit and she said that they were being very careful with granting the visas as there has been a lot of k1ers lately who entered the US and never got married.
I was done by 3:15 PM, the 2 others girls had already left the consulate with their precious visa.
I called my fiancee at work to give her the good news. Now I'm ready to leave for Houston on june 21th.

Good luck to Eric and Arno (MVStolar's fiance) for their interview and thanks to all the members of this newsgroup, they have been precious help.

Olivier.

Once you have your k1 visa, you have 6 months to enter the US. Apart from that, there is no waiting time. Nobody prevents you from going to the airport and fly to the US just after your k1 visa is issued.

Olivier.

the medical i dont care about - them are not the 2inch square pictures. i got the information already in package 3 that i need 3 pictures for medical. it does not say special ones - so i just take regular pictures.

It really depends on the consulate. I needed 2 photos for the interview and only 1 for the medical exam.

Olivier.
