8 months 15 days since application, still waiting for med request...they were previously coming in around the 6 months mark, pre-July changes.
I'm over stressing about it now....

As peppi mentioned I will be the ever optimistic I do believe that DIMIA will be processing the applications soon. Eventhough it doesn't justify the delay in processing.

I keep my fingers crossed and watch how DIMIA is going to perform in this week and next. That shoudl reveal the processing speed. I do see due to new MODL it could either make things worse for the non MODL people like me since they will be processed quicker but on the other hand if they are processed quicker then my turn will also be quick.. I know its difficult its the same for me but be honest WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT other than getting stressed.....

NO NEWS SINCE THEN...

It means medical request are taking about 9 months after post july...

it seems like that. I know a lot has been talked about the processing and lot of frustrations vented out. But we have to wait and see how dimia is going to make the processing move. So far we are in the first week of september We thought the DIMIA will be processing quicker but the new MODL has changed the picture.

My opinion is that some applications in the pipeline will be processed quicker due to MODL but this will have impact on the backlog. I am positive that DIMIA has a plan to address this situation.

Hoping the coming weeks will be a positive for everyone waiting in the queue.

Hi Tony,

Since I applied end of Dec last year I've heard nothing since my acknowledgement.

Therefore my advice comes with a bit of a caveat, but you are now very close to the end of the 50 week timescale that DIMIA told you to expect a visa decision within. If I remember the acknowledgement letter correctly (I'm at work and can't check) they asked you not to contact them before the 50 weeks was up.

My view would be that they can hardly complain if you do contact them once they've had their 50 weeks. Particularly as in your case the clock is ticking on the medicals etc.
