Has anyone contracted through one of these companies? If so, any advise or tips...or should I set up a Ltd Co / Sole trader?
Thanks

You would imagine there would be lots of umbrella companies in the UK with the often unpredictable weather so it will be a tough market to break into

I've had good luck with Parasol - http://www.parasolgroup.co.uk . Easy to work with, you get paid on time and they even help you work out tax deductions for travel, etc. Give them a try.

When I was contracting I used BrollyIT.
Did what they said on the tin. Easy to work with etc etc.
I see they no longer believe umbrella companies are the best way to go...

Have not worked in IT for several years. Friends who are still in the trade are Ltd and have always been so.
Good luck.
