Soaking up the sun in Perth, Australia
Hi,
I'm Peter. I've just arrived in Perth, Australia and am shortly to be followed my wife. We've come over from Sheffield. I got a job in the mining industry (IT) so I'm on a 457 visa. I arrived on Saturday at 2am and by 4pm the same day I was having a barbie on the beach followed by lots of celebratory drinks. Sunday morning at 7.30am I went for a swim in the beautiful waters off Scarboro beach. Today I was given a monstorous ute to drive around in till I get myself sorted out with a car. The thing is a beast! So all in all I think I'm doing well acclimatising to Aussie life... Happy days! Peter |

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading. Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font. Hi Peter,
Welcome to BE and congratulations on the new job and the new country. You will find BE a great place for helping you acclimatize, so be sure to get to know everyone in the Australia forum. I bet you can't wait to share your new adventure with your wife. How long until she gets there?
