Firstly, apologize for posting here - there doesn't seem to be a 'North Africa' or 'Africa' forum. Middle East is the closest and some consider Egypt as ME.

I moved here about a week and a half ago and my husband will be joining me as soon as he gets his visa. I moved for a year as part of my degree, I have to spend a year in an Arabic speaking country, as im studying Arabic as part of my degree back home in London.

I have normal comprehensive travel insurance from my bank: Lloyds TSB but it only lasts a month and it doesnt cover GP's etc. I have had quotes from the regulars, BUPA etc, but they are very expensive for the measly student budget. Can someone please suggest for me any good companies either Egyptian or other, where I could take out good value medical insurance that covers Doctors visits and medications etc ...

I can help you, but you won't usually get cover for medicines, unless as part of inpatient treatment.

There is an Africa section, as a sub-section of 'Rest of the World', but I'm not sure how useful you'll find it if you're living in Egypt.
