Hi all,
My wife and I arrived in Abu Dhabi two months ago. I relcated from Glasgow via work and my wife gained her residence visa on the back of that.
I realise she should probably be enjoying here period of leisure / unemployment. However, due to boredom she has started looking for employement.
She managed a successful restaurant in Glasgow for the past 5 years, although she's had enough of working on her feet and would like to find something in some sort of admin/ HR stuff out here. She has a degree (i know they usually don't count for much these days) in HR and would be a great addition to anyone's office!!!! Biased opinion but true nonetheless...
She has been looking for jobs on gulftalent and associated sites and will continue to do so... however... (drumroll) I thought I'd ask on here as to whether anyone has any useful contacts / advice / websites etc etc they may be able to pass in our direction with regards to finding employment.
Many thanks!!
Dave

As with the accountant on the other thread, you'll find that many HR positions are filled by either locals or subcontinentals.

It would appear so... looks good though...
She could look at PA roles too - I hear they pay mentally well in Abu Dhabi for good Western PAs (I am actually thinking I may go Mrs Doubtfire and retrain)...

Yeah, it's a nice wee place on Duke St. There sure ain't too many of them in that neck of the woods.
Thanks for the replies folks.
So far she's applied to some entry level positions within the British Embassy and a few other Admin Assistant things in Abu.
Fingers crossed for something soon!!!!!
