We are moving to Kaliningrad and would love to have a friendly contact when we get there.

Hi Lewis,
Welcome to BE.
I've taken the liberty of removing your email address from your post so it doesn't get picked up by spam bots.
Thanks so much for becoming a member and joining our little community.
We don't have a dedicated site to Russia because, to be honest, I don't believe we have that many members in Russia.
However why not post in our Europe forum and see if you can flush anyone out.
Oh and if you get stuck on any of the site's bells and whistles please don't hesitate to give me a shout, or you can post in our Site Feedback forum anytime.

Sue,
Thanks for watching out for us. Didn't know the email address might be a problem. I will try the European approach, but don't I need to pick a country?
I am very familiar with North Carolina. Where are you?

I'm sorry I'm ashamed to say I know very little about Russia.
All I know is my BIL worked in Moscow for the Foreign Office for several years...both he and his wife where followed everywhere they went.
That was way back in the 70's/80's...obviously much has changed since then.Even though we don't have a dedicated forum for Russia...as Sue suggested the Europe forum is a good starting point. Although BE is a wealth of information for new expats...there are many of us who only log onto BE for a Brit Fix. You'll know what I mean once you become an expat.

Good luck and please shout out if you need help with anything.
