Thanks for this. My partner is going to try and track the info down from his Dr just in case. He is originally from South Africa and we have had a few issues getting his police check etc(they have been slow and disorganised etc), so tracking down vaccination records from years ago should be a real treat!

Hi there,
I am currently in the middle of doing my spouse visa application (my husband is a dual UK/Australian citizen). I am wondering whether to get my medicals done beforehand or lodge my application and wait to be told to do them. I would get them done now but don't really know how to go about it. I emailed Australia House but they just advised me that I can do them now or wait but they didn't actually tell me what i need to do! I am presuming that i need to do full medical, blood test and x-ray? What is this e-health medical thing? Can i do this? Maybe it would be easier to wait until i have lodged my application and then i will be told what i need to do. Any help is much appreciated! ![]() |

I also have another completely unrelated question...
For statements from family about our relationship (in addition to the 2 statements using the form 888) can these just be hand written on normal A4 paper? Thanks again |

I had my medical done in London and I think it was around £220 in total. Whoever you go to should know what you need as soon as you say what type of visa you're going for, but it is the medical, x-ray, eye test, blood and urine tests. And with regards to the statments, it is absoutely fine for handwritten statements. I had a mix of 888 forms, typed and signed letter type statements, and hand written ones on plain and ruled paper. Good luck with the application.

Hello again cherubs
Just had a phone call from my son, who is filling out the forms for his partners visa, and we are a little confuddled! ![]() In the information booklet it says something along the lines that 'the main sponsor should normally be resident in Australia'. YET you have to prove that you have been living together for 12 months prior to application ![]() My son has his Perm Res visa but apart from validation and a couple of holidays has stayed in UK with his partner. They now both want to come live here, which requires her to get a visa obviously, but is the booklet saying that the main sponsor has to be here in Oz when they apply? if so how can you show 12 months resident together? OR do they expect another person who is already in Oz to be the sponsor - in which case it's not my partner . It's not an issue if I have to sponsor her but it's knowing what to put on the forms. All sounds very confusing to me and reminds me of why I went grey so quick whilst applying for my visa 4 years ago I'm afraid! ![]() |

Hi All
I am nearly there now, it says you should supply certified copies of your current passports and all previous travel documents. I hold dual nationality US/British do I need to get certified copies of all my US passports or just the British ones. Thanks |

Has anyone sent in a CD of photos before or do they need to be printed?
