Has anyone started this yet? I will be applying for step 1 in a few months to get the graduate visa. Wanted to know if anyone went thru the 12 months work etc...

I'm also getting ready to apply for stage 1 in the next few months, however, I'm just applying for the graduate visa so don't have to worry about going through the whole program......seeing as tho hairdressing ain't on the list anymore!

The Job ready programme only started in January so no one will be through the 12 months yet.

Have a word with pumpkinblossom as she's started the process. Not sure about anyone else yet.

I applied and passed step one. It took them FAR longer than advertised.

My job is not on the list any more, and as far as I have seen is not on any of the state sponsorship lists. My employer is trying to sponsor me, so I am not paying the stupidly high prices to do a worthless job ready programme. Step one was easy though.

Thanks.. I realize noone will have finished the 12 months.. But some people could have applied for step 2.. You know the employer contract etc.. My job is still on the list. So I am hoping to be able to go thru it.

Hi

I have started the process. Done Step 1 and onto Step 2.

I have sent all my employers details off and TRA called my boss to say they will send someone to come see us on the worksite.

The guy called today saying he was coming to see us tomorrow for a chat, etc? Don't know what about because I'm not at the Assesment stage yet, so will keep you updated after our meet tomorrow.

Cheers

Hi

Met the guy on site today, he had about half hour with us. He asked my boss a few questions and then explained the next stages of the process to us.

To be honest he said it was still in the air as to what they require from us in terms of 12mths work exp or 1900+ hours

He told me after 9 months that I can apply for the Assessment and only 1 will be req'd, contradicting everything on the TRA webpage saying you will be assessed at 6 + 12mths.

I just said I would call him in Feb when I have done 9mths and take it from there.

Ill keep ya posted if anything changes!

Good luck

Yep, every time I phoned TRA about the job ready programme I was told something different. That is why I left it as late as possible to apply for my 485 visa, to give myself as much time as possible to be able to do it, and then they changed the list and that option was gone for me.
Thanks a bunch TRA!
