Applications received prior to June 26 will continue to be processed as they were under the pre-June 26 procedure (yes, 120 days letter/email, etc.).
How they can process those pre-June 26 applications under new procedure if all they have are forms and none of supporting documents?

I assume this is the original 38 so my work experience applies even though my role is no klonger on the list.

I sent my App off in April, cheque was cashed mid June and I received an email from Sydney NS with Reference No etc advising application is being considered for processing on the Ibais of Work Experience instructions issued by Minister of Citizenship, Immigration et al and published on 28th Nov 2008.

I am TOTALLY confused and worried! My partner and i are about to send off our application for FSW to London on monday as our 120 days are up next week.
Now luckily we are both still on "the list" but i'm concerned about new requirements such as llets test, we are both native english and have composed a letter saying so with our secondary ed certificates.
So do the new rules apply to me because we will miss our deadline if so?
I have read this thread but i am CONFUSED!!!!!

Did you guys get an answer for this yet as I am in the same position and don't know what to do!! I either wait almost 3 months for ielts test and results or send a written submission. My application was received by CIO Sydney April 22 2010 and I received 120 day email 30 July 2010. I take it you guys just sent the writen submission as per the old rules.
Thanks

To put it simple as possible, if you applied before 26/06/10 and you mother tongue is English, then all you require is a statement to be included with your 120 day application. If you applied to CIO Sydney after 26/06/10 then you need TEF/IELTS no matter what your mother tongue is.
If you applied before 26/06/10 but after 10/04/10 and your mother tongue is NOT French/English you still could submit a written explanation on how you use English day to day and your education etc. BUT if your written statement wasn't sufficient to determine your language ability the officer would assign the points and you would NOT get a chance to write TEF/IELTs for definite proof.

Hi
Thanks so much for clarifying that. I really appreciate it :-)) I was just being extra careful as it would be so depressing to be rejected for not proving i could speak my own language! YAY now I can send my application way earlier - I'm so happy! THANK YOU!!

Hi there !!!! I'm completely new to this website and from the little I've read so far I'm feeling much, much happier that there are others out there going thru exactly the same scenarios as me !!!! : ))
I've been living in the States for the past 10 years and recently needed to unexpectedly return to the UK... no problem, I came with a great state of mind.
I'm now looking at the possibilities of relocating to Canada. I've visited.. loved it, have friends there and property. My skills however are definitely not applicable, in any way, to the "Independant / Skilled Worker" Class and so I'm looking seriously at re-training completely !!!!
I'll be in Vancouver 20th thru 24th September, Montreal 15th thru 19th October to research Courses, Employment prospects...
Is it the case that I can go looking to for a relatively less skilled / unskilled job just to get my foot in the door ???
Would love to catch up with expats in both cities... Expats, I'm sure, are the fastest way to understand the ways and means of sorting this !!!
Thanks... Martin...

1. Start a new thread with your questions or comments in the Canada forum, this way you may get more replies.
2. The wiki has some great articles on immigration and living in Canada. Take a look through here, http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Category:Canada it should get you started. You have to have a work permit to work in Canada or a permanent resident permit.
If you re-train, you would in almost all circumstances have to have at least 12 months experience in the job after training and the job has to be on the list of '29' current when you apply. It changes so re training is not always a good idea.
If you go the WP route an employer has to get approval from HRDC to be able to hire you.

Regards this statement. I assume this could be explained on a simple cover letter ? Anyone done this ?

Hi there,
Yes, I sent a simple cover letter stating, i was born, raised, and educated in English schools, where my first tongue is English.
I backed this up with certificates in secondary school education that show i studied and sat exams in GCSE English Literature, GCSE English Language and GCSE English Communcation.

I was wondering how long Electricians have been on the list for as I am thinking about training up but its going to take a while and I don't want it to fall off the list

Plus to work as an electrician in Canada you'd need your Red Seal, and for that you'd have to show 7000hrs or more work experience, and that cannot include apprenticeships. Do a forum search for 'Red Seal' for more info.
Train as an electrician if you really want to do the job, but don't do it just to get a visa as things change soooooo often in Canadian immigration.

Hi,
Me and my husband are planning to move to Canada under FSW category...We have freezed NOC 1122 for application, considering the fact that the maximum cap of 1,000 apps has reached..However, am ready to wait for another 6-7 months before it opens gain, but have a few doubts and apprehensions ...!! From last 4.5 years, I happen to be a Banker by profession and have handled complex back office banking operations , compliance, audit and client portfolio handling. My job experience matches more or less with the lead statement of 1122 and, also have performed substantial duties described in " main duties " summary.
My question is that : Since, I am from a banking domain ( performing these duties ::1122), in there a probability of mismatch or discrepancy.
Pls guide.
Regards

I guess your problem is not only if you fulfil the criteria for 1122, but probably more important is whether or not this will indeed be on the 'new' list, if such a thing will exist.
I think this code filled up so quickly as it was such a wide category and, in my opinion, I doubt this particular code will reappear.
Good luck.

Absolutely no point in training just to get a visa. You'd need a year of full-time work experience as an electrician to qualify, so you're looking at quite a long time in advance and there's no guarantee that electricians will still be on the list that far in the future (or that there will even be a list!).
