Good idea about using Quantas credit card, will do that

Les
I also like Singapore Air Les, except for the strangely hard seats, but really dislike the long sector, hence the quest for a shorter route. A stopover in Dubai and perhaps a 6-hour break in Singapore. Or failing that some pill to make the whole unnatural experience of being cooped up for 13 hours not matter.

Best wishes

Once you've booked online you then contact Emirates within 24 hours of booking to get your 50kgs

Hope that helps. I did print the details if you need any further info

That thread was almost started a year ago, the offer is no longer valid, but the one I linked to on my earlier post is.

Having done the trip last Nov on Royal Brunei with no stop overs we would never do it that way again! We were trying to save money, but with the end result it cost us more. When we make the next trip which will be the big move we are planning to go Singapore Airlines with a stop over in Singapore, which we did about 2 years ago!

Cheers

Like you Steve we also prefer to use Singapore and have to agree about the seats this is in spite of rather ample personal padding. We thought it was just us. We found the last trip home nearly unbearable for the last 90 minutes or so. On a more serious note, please don't be tempted by any knock out pills, it's as good a way as any to land up with a DVT.
Best wishes
Cath
PS: Survey's done, fingers crossed for a trouble free exchange of contracts.

Fingers crossed for the Surveys on houses being done, nearly there guys. If you think selling a house is stressful try selling a small refrigeration/air-con business. Anyone know anyone who sells business for a living?

Good advice re pills. I guess the answer is to take along a bit of extra padding, because it is a good airline.

I hope the exchange goes as smoothly as an exchange can.

Unfortunately McDonalds like Coca Cola can be found anywhere you go in this world, unlike our 2 favourite spreads!!

Re the Pills. I used to travel between UK & South Africa quite regularly on business and my doctor (South African) gave me some sleeping tablets to take, which I duly did, and the guys I was travelling with said I fell asleep with my knife & fork in my hands just about to eat my inflight meal & I didn't wake up until the approach to Heathrow! But boy did I feel refreshed, but hungry

Just got back from a week's holiday in sunny (but breezy) Shepton Mallett! Five new pages to catch up with............. but

Not much happening then? No red stars, No COs. Had hoped to see some progress but so far just lots of shopping advice.

Haven't had Marmite for 2 weeks now. Think I might be able to survive without it if this carries on. I always buy Aussie brandswhen we're there and find my whites are OK Even the cheapest seems to do the job and they work in cold water too!
