Pass the police stations into Saligo, as you drive through and as you start to leave the village there are local shops and bars on the right, the wine bar is on the left.
We could not find it at first, well worth a visit.

Found it on Friday evening, Noni & I agree, it's well worth a visit.
We deviated off the road a bit to begin with, got lost, and reached a dead-end so had to retrace back in direction of Calangute Police Stn - then we saw we should not have turned off at all, but just followed the road thro' from the P/Stn, and sure enough, there was the parade of shops - painted in bright ZINZI pink - on the righthand side, with Cantare opposite.

Easy to see how you can miss it, especially in the evening when it's dark.

Great selection of "starters", but limited number of main courses.

Plus point - no intrusive music, so you can have a conversation without shouting.

Thanks for the tip - will certainly return.

Glad you enjoyed - as you say it is well worth a visit, what food they have is always of high quality. The starter Platter to share is a meal in itself.
Always a pleasant "quiet" evening away from the hussle and bussle of
Candolim and Calengute.

Set in the quiet village, brilliant to sit on the veranda and people watch. So different to Calengute and Candolim with it's noisy tooting cars.

Down point the glasses were so big that you could have put a bottle of wine in a glass - so beware you drink more than you should
Went there the other evening, Madera 600r Kingfisher small 60r Chicken burger with trimmings 200r (MUST BE HAVEING A LAFF). Think there will always be plenty of seats!

Oh good! So glad not everyone likes it! We hate it when a place gets too popular!

Maderia was 400 rups a bottle at the end of the season, has it gone up that much. ~Anyway, it would be worth it for a treat to get away from the
noise and rush of Candolim and Calangute.

Have heard that Tony's Place has moved to Floyds (not the real Floyds - opposite the Magnum) the one further up the road next to Living Jewels.

Can't wait to go back!

South Goa: Guto & his wife have sold Fusion in Majorda & intended to re-open at what used to be the Tate Bar in Colva - just down the street from where Sagar Kinara is on the corner - that is unless the deal he was involved in came off in Oman, in which case he won't be back in Goa & who can blame a Brazillian trying to apply for a business visa in his Dutch wife's homeland!

Regards

H.

I heard that they'd pulled out of the Tate deal, quite a while ago. There's work going on there now, so let's see who turns up.

They may have pulled out of the Tate deal - it was May when I was told that they'd sold the place in Majorda & were going into the premises formerly occupied by 'Tate'.

By the way things seem to be heading, whoever goes in to the premises they could have a tough season if they are going to rely on Foreign (particularly British) tourists - tweekers (me) & long stayers.

Regards

What happened to the Tate bar run by the Essex guy Toff and his family?
I heard he is back in Essex.

Currently being refurbished. We don't know who is taking it yet. I think Toff had enough of the visa runs.

Apparently Fusion in Majorda will be run by a guy from Delhi this season. I am also told that the Fusion couple are still in Goa.
