Hi vxm665,
Thanks for the reply
Our category of visa is a 176 family sponsored. Assume HR/LR is high and low risk country, we are in low risk (UK)
When tracking visa status online it changed to ‘further processing’ a couple of days after lodging, which when I enquired just means it was placed in a queue for processing. From the email the case officer was assigned early last week, I believe Monday.

Please do keep us updated on the progress of your application.
btw, I wonder if you were one of those ppl who received an e-mail from DIAC stating that a CO will be assigned in the next 3 months.

Hi alfiat,
I have just double checked the email, it states that a CO has been assigned and that they are now processing the visa application. They require further information to make a decision. So fingers crossed everything goes smoothly
.
Have many people had these emails about they will process over the next 3 months then?
Does anybody know roughly how long it takes to get a decision from the DIAC? That is if we meet all the deadlines for further information etc…

Hi Matt,
From what I read in this forum, there are quite a number of applicants who received the e-mail. I am a November 2010 applicant and am not one of them.
Anyway, that doesn't matter for you now as a CO has already been assigned. Just provide anything that DIAC requires and I'm sure things will go smoothly for you.

Hi
Thanks were just about to send the information off today to meet the CO request.
I’m confused, what’s this email from March 18th from the DIAC? Is this something that I should be aware of?
We are going on my partners occupation, she is a Secondary School Teacher.

Hi guys,
I looked at the progress of our visa yesterday online and most things that are required have been met by the CO
! The only things that were outstanding were the medicals and the proof of work experience which has now been sent off. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly.

Hi Guys,
Just a quick update, the evidence/information on work experience that the CO requested has now been met. They have now requested us to undergo our medicals and police clearance checks.
So fingers crossed everything will be met soon!
Whilst we are waiting for these items can anyone give me advice on the family tree diagram that they will request? Is this just to show your link to the family sponsor?

OH did his famiy tree using MSWord. He just went as far back as his paternal grandparents (as it is his paternal uncle who is sponsoring us) and showed the link - very simple to do.
My signature shows our progress, so not long now

Afternoon all
Not able to update my timeline as at work, but just to let you know that we got our Visa grant today

To say I'm a touch happy would be an understatement
good luck to all those waiting
