On their website it says 'Upgrade to club class from 99GBP one way'.

We flew club class when coming over to live because it was a 1 way ticket we thought what the hell, but to be honest I really do think it's worth the extra money apart from the extra luggage allowance.

It's well worth the money particularly if one or both parties is on the tall side.

I used to fly Canada 3000 "Club Class". I found that flying Canada to UK to be a good idea, because the extra room makes sleeping a little easier. However, when flying UK to Canada it is daylight all the time, so the benefit is not as great.

when we flew club (about 3years ago) we were impressed, we purchased upgrade at the airport for $150 each (Toronto to Gatwick).

The seats were much bigger which was great for the night flight back

We had proper crockery, cutlery and glassware
The food was actually presented and not just a foil covered tub.
We had complimentary drinks and snacks throughout (not just when they scheduled it)
Alcohol was free (alas not any more)
Generally you get treated much better and are looked after as a customer not a passenger

I think i will go for it as even with the upgrade it still works out about the same or tiny bit more as air canada and british airways and i get double the luggage allowance, gonna call them today for a bit more info and see how far into the future can book the return as online its on may

flew with the upgrade last year. Definitely worth it. Have flown cattle class with air Transat before, I am 5"9 and found no leg room. So I would say go with it.

we worked out that we could BOTH fly club class with air transat/thomas cook for the price of ONE cattle class on Air Canada I know what my decision would be...

the website needs updating as just phoned them and the extra baggage is 30kg total not 40kg and hand luggage is still only 5kg and not 15kg. so that not that helpful

just looking at american airlines it works out more expensive but u can take 1x18kg as carry on plus a personal item. 2x 23kg bags one free and one $50 and its via LAX

Do you get your own TV in club class? I have flown with so many companies and was very shocked when I took Air Transat from Canada to UK May 2009 and did not have a TV. I did not bother bringing a book because I thought I would have my own tele to watch movies! We are looking at it for the extra baggage allowance as well but needing to know if I need to supply my own entertainment! xxxx

american airlines has seat back tvs in economy. I usually flew with them whenever I went to Boston from UK and they aren't bad.

The leg room is decent (i'm 5'7), the entertainment is good and the food is - well economy airline food But they were always cheaper then BA and landed 5 mins before the BA flight so the immigration hall was empty. Plus the majority of the flight was usually US citizens so the 'all other' queue in immigration was shorter and quicker.

yeah i think for american airlines there either a stopover in dallas or lax but thats not too bad if the baggage is more and the entertainment is better hehe. The best airline I had for entertainment was new zealand air who fly to LAX but alas not vancouver
