I was thinking that as I read her news.
When you hit a high like that you realize that all the down times, all the things that have gone wrong and all the hopelessness you have felt were for a reason, you have finally achieved a goal that had seemed so far away.

Congrats! That is a great story. I remember when you first arrived here, how excited you were, and how pleased you were on getting your first job. The thing that struck me in all your posts was how positive you always seem to be. You two will continue to do well.

Thanks everyone!!
I felt a bit self-indulgent as I was writing the post but then I thought, sod it - there must be someone out there that could do with knowing that things DO get better as time goes on!
There have been alot of times over here where I've really wanted to just quit and get on a flight home, and we kept reassuring ourselves that we would get through it. After moving hell and high water to stay together throughout the whole immigration process, then the various ups and downs whilst we've been settling in, we knew it had to be our time soon!!
There are some things that still give us the odd kick - One of the kids has just been diagnosed as being on the Autism spectrum, One of them with ADHD, and we are waiting for my DS to have his appointment at the Developmental Delay clinic for tests to see if he has ADD or Auditory Processing Disorder.... or possibly something else - but we know that we are super strong together and we will just battle through whatever is next!!! I just try to be positive and thank myself that all in all I have a great family, and for that I am so so grateful
I will pop some pics up in my gallery of the condo when we move in, but if anyone wants a look at the ones I've got on my FB then send me a PM and I'll let you have my email addy so you can add me!!

Great post Clarissa
I'm sure it will be inspirational to those on here that think 'it's all just too hard'. It shows that a positive attitude and loving family can get you through the rough spots and that in the end it's all worth it
Another thing too sweety, my oldest was diagnosed with ADD his first year of school in the US, he was put on meds (we only gave them to him on school days) after a year or so, I just took him off them and the teachers didn't even notice a difference. I think that he just had issues settling in and I also think that sometimes the teachers here are too quick to label a kid, just because they may need a little extra help

What a story.
Just the pick me up I needed this morning. We've found if tough since we got here financially, but I reckon it'll take a good few months to settle down. I love it here and your story is an inspiration and shows that with your family around you, if you stick together, you can achieve anything.
Well done girl and hope the house move goes according to plan. Congrats.

Thanks for all the positive comments

Congratulations! Good jobs, a house, etc are things that still seem far away to me. My job isn't bad and it supplies hubby and I with decent benefits, but he is still looking. We rent a different apartment every year because we get fed up with noisy college students and lousy landlords. We really want to start a family, but have been putting it off because of money etc. But we're getting older and don't want to wait too long. Anyway, your story made me feel better. I know we will get there eventually. Thanks for sharing!
