Default A tip for those about to book Medicals

A quick tip about Medicals in Canada. I went for my medical at a DMP in Calgary on Friday. I had booked these two weeks previously. When I got there the receptionist said, "When you booked with us, did anybody advise you to book your X-rays and fluids tests at a separate location and give you a phone number?". I answered in the negative and she replied, "Oh, that's strange, they should have done".

The long and short of it is that I have had to book these for this Wednesday at a separate medical centre. No big deal but it would have been nice to have done everything on the same day, especially since I had booked the whole day off of work.

When booking Medicals it may be an idea to ask if X-rays etc. have to be done separately.

Good tip.

You could hardly have an argument with them when they were just about to pull a needle on you!

Cheers

We had our medicals done in Canada, (Richmond Hill, Ontario).

We were not told that the blood tests and x rays were done at a different location, but it did not make any difference to us. The x rays and bloods were on a walk in basis, so all was done the same day.

My experience has been the same in Halifax, was told over the phone that Xray and blood tests where done in a different location to the medical with a separate charge and they could be done without making any appointments but had to be done after seeing the Dr

Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe it's a Calgary 'thing'. I was told that 'same day' X-ray appointments weren't possible and that I would have to book days in advance.
