Try Ikea. You can check & see if you can order them online.
"Carton demenagement"
http://www.ikea.com/fr/fr/catalog/products/60047151
There seems to be a store in Nantes (or Tours).
Lots of french are doing DIY demenagement now because of the high cost.
Bonne chance

Nice one, will look into it. Raiding a local 'Shoppi' at moment who leave 'cartons' out front, I assume to keep their dechetterie costs down. Also plan to speak with local Intermarche manager.

Nice that others feel cost of moving is high.

forget boxes?
try those reusable heavy duty bags(sacks) from any supermarket buy 10 or 15 perhaps more for the move they cost just 0.90 cents each....
then reuse for shopping after or recycle
p.s boxes in ikea cost a fortune but they are strong can carry 30kg so can the sacks...

Try also the storage box places - we got ours there. Also if you do a search online for "carton de demenagement" there are plenty of suppliers!

That's even better, never spotted them. Nantes is an hour and a bit drive for us. Will check out Mr Bricolage a few mins away. Thanks.
