And just to show that I hane not taken umbrage at being called "Steve", here is the result of a half-hours worth of Googling and reading crap UK Government websites (why do they have to bury the small amount of info involved in pages and pages of waffle?)
The link to the site is;
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cnr/osc.htm#5
and to keep it easy, heres the list;
Reciprocal Agreement countries
Barbados
Bermuda
Bosnia-Hercegovina
Canada
Croatia
Guernsey
Israel
Jamaica
Japan - Further details of the Japan Reciprocal Agreement
Jersey
Macedonia
Mauritius
Montenegro
New Zealand
Philippines
Republic of Korea - Further details of the Republic of Korea Reciprocal Agreement
Serbia
Turkey
USA
Yugoslavia *
*The Slovenia part of the Yugoslavia Reciprocal Agreement has been superseded by the European Community Regulations.
Please see the Department for Work & Pensions website for full details of our Social Security agreements with other countries.
I said it was a weird list, didnt I?
Havent taken the advice in the last paragraph as the DWP web site is one of the worst I have ever encountered, and I felt I might slit my wrists halfway through?
Love and kisses

Good morning Milwarth ( alias Steve)
thanks for all the hard work in looking up this information. It makes for interesting reading when trying to consider where to pick when leaving Goa.

would like his views on the 2 month rule.
It seems some people are getting in, others are in the return lounge at dabolim? suppose it depends on the official at the time of entry, and 'money'
What happens to those in the Return Lounge? Anybody know.
p.s. perhaps Milwart is in the lounge entertaining them.

Where did the 'Return lounge' come from? - I must have missed the start of the story <s>

More Rumour is that 3 middle aged ladies on the First Choice plane were refused entry to India as they had been here in December - I reiterate rumour.
but two other passengers got through immigration no problem.

It appears that Russians on a 1 year multi entry visa are exemptfrom the 60 day rule. have first hand knowledge of a couple who left Goa on the 3rd feb for Thailand and returned first thing this morning with no trouble. they have been in goa since late october and do not leave until may!

All on the one flight ? that is shocking
surely there must be some onus on the travel agents to make sure this doesn`t happen.

Saw an old friend yesterday who comes to Goa a few times a year - having 6 month multi visa. He was here december. He was turned back at LHR because he was 5 days short - bless on his honeymoon and had upgraded to Premier Class - he is absolutely furious with the travel agent, because they did not tell him about the new rules - cost him another £400 to change dates.
NOT FAIR, and spent his honeymoon at LHR with the bride in tears.
T C did not want to know either in London or Goa.

Why would T. Cxxk care? After all these passengers have already paid the money and the company will have an excuse not to refund !
Disgusting ! You are right Vagatorian, the travel operators have a responsibilty on this issue as well and should check before allowing people to pay whether they are eligible for entry to India !
Dread - ridiculous rules, created by fools !!

Could someone please clarify for me how "those in power" (VFS / HCI & Immigration Officers) calculate the "2 months" ? Is it 2 calendar months , 8 weeks or what?
I'm confused about when to re-apply for a new 6 mth visa, and whether to calculate from the date I left India (11 Jan '10) or from when last visa expired (15 Jan '10).
I also agree that tour operators should know about these new rules.
Thanks for any advice.

And that, John, is the problem. Pot Luck.
If everyone (including Russians) knew where they stood it would be fine.
