In summer, this is a fabulous place, full of tourists, mosquitos and blackflies too mind you and everything is open. Come September and it becomes ghostly. You can't find any cafes open and you will find yourselves at home watching TV all the time. We vowed to cross country ski and snow shoe but the truth is that there are hardly any trails.
My husband can't get a job despite being very well qualified. I have a great job but it's not enough. We are trying to keep a family of 4 on $40k, which means our standard of living is worse than in the UK. We have a stunning house, which we plan to keep but we're looking to head back to the UK and have our cake and eat it too!

Hi Nova Blues
Really sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you in NS, and all the best for your return to the UK.
We are looking at NS ourselves, and while it won't worry us if things are more limited in winter, it does worry us if we cannot get work.
Could I ask how long has your husband been out of work and what is he looking for? What is your line of work?
