Default Ping Pong Poms

After much thought and deliberation I think we are ready to go back to Oz and give it another go, being back in the UK has made us realise why we wanted to go to Australia so bad the first time. Quite a few things went wrong for us last year when we arrived and we just didn't give it a proper go.

One thing for sure this time is I want to secure a job before I go and would welcome some advice. I work in IT so any advice based around this maybe some agencies that don't just say that right things but actually try to get you work.

I thought I would never say this but it looks like we will be Ping Pong Poms

I never thought I would be a ping pong Scot (doesn't have quite the same ring though does it) but here I am trying desperately to sell the house here and get back to Australia. Sigh.

Best of luck with it all.

OMG, I don't believe it!
Dermot & I were only talking about you guys the other day & wondering how you were going!
My advice is don't go to Bali & spend time with other expats en route this time!
Seriously, wish you all the very best of luck
Perhaps V will get her trip to Cairns after all!

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Hi Sally, I have just applied for a job in Rockhampton so you never know. We landed on our feet back here in the UK both landed good jobs and bought another house (at a really good price) but as time moves on we just know we made a huge mistake and we should have sat it out.

Vee is adamant that I get a job before we go out so I need to find that first, strange I find it really easy in the UK to get IT work. Anyway how are you guys getting on?

All going well for us now after a shaky start, thanks!
Can understand Vee's concerns about employment. Where are you hoping to head to? Hope the one in Rocky works out, you can come visit from there!
Could you come out before everyone else, to secure a job?
Glad things have been good back in Cornwall though!

To be honest that might just have to be the way we do it even if I land a job as we will have to sell the house ...or rent it not sure which just yet.

If you see any IT jobs advertised let me know I'm mainly a Microsoft type of guy (Server 2003 MCSE Security)

Well, as Cairns currently has the worst unemployment in Aus at almost 13%, I doubt you will be coming here hon but you never know!

Wish you all luck though, would be great to see you all again!
