Default received PPR - visa activation question

My first post.Hope I do it right.

We received our PPR today. Fantastic!!!!!!

My husband is currently holidaying in Canada with our sons (didn't expect this to come through so quick). It's an extended trip, and they are not due to return until February, but we have to activate visa before then.

I am main applicant. Can I fly to Canada, activate my visa on entry at Edmonton airport, then we all drive across border for the day and activate theirs?

What kind of proof would I have, that I have activated my visa already? PR card takes a while, doesn't it? Would it be better to not activate mine until we all go across the border together?

Thank you.

1. You would have to get your spouse and children's passports and submit them to obtain the COPRs.
2. You plan is fine. When you "land" the information is entered into FOSS and your one entry COPR is canceled and the landing date entered.
3. PR card is just proof that you are a permanent resident.

Hi
You do have a year from the date of your medical to land, so there is no hurry, other than your wanting to do it sooner, which I can fully understand.

Your plan to fly in and do it is a good one....and you may be able to look at properties to rent or buy where you want to live...while you are together as a family.
Good luck and congratulations
Stef
