Yep!! my thoughts were exactly the same the UK also have these and have for years

When we first went to live in Spain had water delivered by tanker into an underground depository and it cost about £50 a load. My neighbour used to have 3 dried peas on her cistern and when you had a wee you moved one pea to the right. When all 3 were to the right you could flush the loo.
When we were in Oz we stayed in home stay and they were in drought the loo notice said "If its wee let it be - if it's brown, flush it down".

Maybe I should send these gems to The Herald for him.

Love the way the Goon media portray Sri Lanka as purely a low-cost alternative!

They conveniently forget clean, organised, tourist centric, friendly,..............oh s**t, just ran out of superlatives.......

no problem though, just rang Tescos and they will have a new delivery of superlatives in tomorrow...............and as I was inconvenienced, double Club Card points will apply

The point being?

Zimbabwe-on-Sea maybe cheap, but you get what you pay for......f**k all!

Took Mrs J5 to the airport tonight and had really mixed emotions as I waived goodbye for another six months, but the overwhelming sensation was............

How blessed am I?

Stood for an hour with her to check in with Jet (We dominate so b*gger customer service) Airways, emotions all over the place but still feeling positive. had a £2.50 paper cup of latte (twice Mcd's) and headed back out into civilisation................sheer relief, I endured that queue out of affection for Mrs J5 and the fact that I didnt have to go as well. A brief (1 hour) trip round the M25/M40 and snuggled up against the cold.

Sh*t, lifes a wonderful place. A decent days work/ a decent days pay. A wander around the shops without wondering what you are are standing in. No need to haggle over EVERYTHING you buy (fun for a fortnight but murder for life)

OK, enoughs enough, I'll shut up now. Love you all, and as most of you are looking forward to the start of your holiday in Z-o-S, I'll shut up now, and as us Brits say, "get a life" (me)

Terrible sad news in Irish Papers.

Beverly O'Sullivan was tragically killed in a car accident in India.
A well known irish singer who was also part of the group Fifth Avenue.
Beverly was only 28 years old and was travelling in India with her boyfriend who remains seriously ill.


Condolences goes out to her family and friends.
