They suspended international recruitment in April, anybody with applications in before 1st April was able to continue with the process. Until it says otherwise on the website, international recruitment will be suspended as they are concentrating on canadian recruitment, but if you send them a CV they will keep hold of it if suitable until they resume international recrtuiting.

Regards

Chris

You may want to short list your 'abroad' and then seach the internet for relevant country. This thread is information on Calgary, and some edmonton police.

If you want to go to the UK and kent police, just google Kent constabulary and the inforamaiton will be there. The United Nations do not have an international police service. If you are in Nigeria do you qualify to live in the UK to join thier police service. The Canada forum is for people moving away from the Uk to canada, but there is a forum that covers people moving to the uk.

If you get a chance check out the United Nations website. They will have details of the current UN police missions. Not sure what is available but for Nigerians. I worked for the UN police for 19months some time ago. Think they have a few missions on the go like, Afganistan and Iraq etc. You normlly do this via your home country so contact your forces international desk if they have one. As the previous respondant said this post is for Calgary Police have a look for one that better suits your needs or start a new thread asking for details about the UN police.

Hi,

I have finally sent the visa forms to Calgary. They have told me the forms have been signed and were sent to Edmonton.

Can anyone tell me if need to do anything and why are they sent to Edmonton? What is the next step?

Thanks again

Hi,

The fors are sent to Edmunton to be approved for the nominee program. If you are accepted you will receive a certificate of acceptance and then you have to send all the other forms off with this to the immigration dept.

Hope this answers your question.

Regards

Files are sent to Edmonton first because it is the capital of Alberta and that's where the approving government authorities are located. Doesn't mean anything except a few days more for you to wait.

Hi Paul

I was accepted on 20th August and got my written offer through about 10 days later, signed copy and immigration paperwork has to be back on Calgaryby 24th October and I have until 22 August 2009 get permanent residency and produce it in Calgary. I think the immigration side of things normally takes about 4 or 5 months. So I would think you may be able to get out there June time

Regards

Hi Everyone,

First time posting on the forum so be gentle! I am off to Calgary in just under two weeks time and the last minute panic is setting in!

I have absolutely trawled through this thread and others for information to help with testing but most info seems to be sent via PM?! I have actually been preparing for some time but need to start focussing!

I'm after the best advice ref the ACT/ APCAT. Does anyone have a copy of the policeprep book or the Norman Hall book that I could buy/ borrow? Is it any good? I tried getting onto policeprep and I received numerous error messages. I've taken this as a sign not to spend $147!

Any tips for the interview? I have some examples to use but really struggle at times as I am not a great salesman!

How long do the polygraph and psychological tests last?

If successful at testing, how long before being notified and receiving a job offer (fingers crossed!)?

Any help appreciated, thanks!
