Just spoken to Edmonton and they wont discuss application for 90 days. And they will only speak to the applicant. Bugger!!!

Hello all, calling all September intake class mates!
Finally made it to Canada and getting excited to start on the september intake. I am staying with Roger Nobert who has kindly put me up for a bit and he is also on the september intake. We were wondering if there are any other september class mates out there in the area or planning to be out here soon so we can hook up and have a chin wag and maybe a couple of jars? Give the families a chance to meet up etc etc.
Get in touch!

Just wanna run this past everyone. Have spoken to Edmonton who says everything OK and certificates are issued and on way back to us - but - Edmonton says,
• send all paperwork up to London, as the original paperwork we submitted to Calgary was returned (new procedure)
• keep back green form and DONT wait for requests, go ahead and have medicals, these will then be sent to CIC
• await request of passports. Edmonton said, have medicals done and the processing is approx 30 days after that.??? Confused but excited.

Is this a new procedure because everyone else I know who have completed this bit did it differently.

Hi Ali/Simon
I have just received the letters for the medical from the Canadian High Commission. I was told not to go ahead with the medicals as you have to send four photo's of each person moving and then they attach one of these to the medical forms which they stamp to authorize doctors to complete.
I think you need the CHC to send you the forms for the medical.
I may be wrong but I only got my medical letters and a preliminary approval on Monday.
Hope I haven't burst your bubble but it wont take long.
PS Cow head says Hello

There's a qualifying period for pay for bank holidays if that might apply? (Not sure what that period is, sorry). But having said that, you'd still get paid flat rate, so that would not necessarily account for your deficit.

Or there used to be about $200 deduction for books - but that should be spread over a few payments. However, you probably got the memory stick and not half a library so, again, sorry, not sure if that would be relevant?

Give pay section a ring - could take a few days for the payslip to find you.

Not much help really

hmm, nope none of that should apply. im definatly getting the holiday pay, and the books were all on the thumb drive.

if anything my pay should have been slightly higher with shift allowance..

Hello all

A little good news to share, was presented yesterday and got the phone call last night.......I'm in !!!! conditional job offer is in the post, so can start filling in the immigration forms

For those still in the process, good luck and hang on in there, I applied in Feb, tested in April and was presented yesterday so so far it's been 6 months, just the immigration to go, oh and the bloody house to sell:curse: but at least the offer is in the bag.

Well done Chris and Nicola.
I start next month and also have some possible good news to share. At the moment there is a 1500 relocation bonus for the ex-pats but there is a chance that it may be going up to 3000 in the near future. Its not been confirmed but here's hoping!
