with regards to the training courses, I have my visa but like a lot of you have not sold the house.
both the short course and the 19 week in november are provisionally full however there are lots of us in the same boat and i guess those who will do the course will be quite different to those booked on at present.
Calgary give you a date on your provisional contract but thats for them rather than us mine runs out in october but so far i am being told not to worry the job is still there
hope this helps

guys we all used robinsons for removals and had no issues with them at all very professional and they were a good price roughly 4k for the 20ft container. they kept us int he loop about where it was and whats happening and it took 4 weeks exactly to get delivered to our house in canada.. no issues with the removal company tippett richardson in calgary either. a good experience.
re CPS it is very different to policing in the uk with regards to the charter rights, you think the human rights act is bad in the UK its nothing compared to the Charter. i was canine in the UK for almost 5 yrs, on the streets for a total of almost 12 yrs. policing is policing where ever you go its just the forms and procedures. YOU WILL be tearing your hair out at some of the stuff and the way they deal with stuff, but for the most part it is far better and easier to police over here than the UK.
i work in the 2nd busiest district and we are busy however not as busy as i was in D&C!! the best thing is that you are left alone to deal with jobs not hounded by comms like the UK.
however for us it was the best move to make, it is not for everyone and there are brits who have joined CPS then left to go back to the UK because of the job!!
if anyone needs more of an insight just email me [email protected]
good luck to all those making the big move, yes it is stressfull but the mountains soon take the stress away!

Any fellow recruits looking for accomodations or help feel free to reply to this thread. My wife and I live in Strathmore Alberta, 35 minutes East of Calgary. I am able to offer a place to stay to help out short term if needed.

Hello all, Have'nt been on for awhile, but heres my latest, spoke with file manager the other day and now all my backgrounding is done and I'm being presented on the 6th August

So should soon be able to get moving with the PNP process and of course get rid of the house!! and as many of you are aware and in the same position this could take time
bloody press and goverment are a pain in the neck!!But sod it if we have take a low offer and go with little money then we are still off, this place is going down the pan
Still trying to work out what take home pay I'll be looking at, I will be starting on the top constable payscale due to service and skills over here, so if there is anybody in the same position over there at the moment could you give me a clue?? make's all the difference to what houses my wife is looking at and if she needs to work. (which she would like not to do
)Any other helpful info would also be much appreciated for the following stages, PNP, Immigration etc and then the moving process.
Cheers

Hey all
Just a quick one, does anybody know of CPS refunding any of the application costs, I'd heard a rumour that they did in order to help with relocation????
Anybody got any idea?
Cheers
