Hi all.
We're coming over to Brisbane in August and we are initially staying at the Pelican Cove Resort in Biggera Waters. We were going to arrange car rental to pick up at the airport, but have been looking in to companies that do transfers from Brisbane Airport to your accommodation.
Has anyone used any of these companies?

The traffic leaving the airport and around that area is meant to be horrendous. When we went, we got the train from the station attached to the airport into Brisbane city centre. Train wasn't very expensive and got into Brisbane quickly and easily. You could then pick up your car rental from there. City centre traffic didn't seem too bad for a major city and getting out was easy and relatively stress free. After travelling so far on a plane, I would imagine the last thing you would need is to be stuck in a traffic jam. Might be worth considering.

cheers

We arrived in Brisbane in Jan and used a great company that drives you door to door and at reasonable prices. If you go onto Brisbane airports website and look at transport, the details are there. If you cannot find them PM me and i will try and find the names.
Excellent service

Thanks everyone for the info.
I'd heard that it is cheaper to rent a car once your there.
We were thinking that it would probably be a lot easier getting a transfer than having to hunt around for hire a car with 2 kids and alot of luggage after a long flight. Also we thought we would probably be so tired that we'd just want to stay in the resort for a day or two, so wouldn't make use of the car, and hire one once we're there.
I've found one company www.coachtran.com.au they are charging $96 from the airport to Biggera Waters, for the 4 of us, which I didn't think was bad.

If you are renting a car then one of the better companies I have used for guests and the like is www.abel.com.au
They collect you at the airport and take you to your car in a minivan shuttle. The rental place is 10 mins away.
Then off you go! A word to the wise though, if ever renting a car in Australia get the decent insurance waiver. Queensland drivers can take some real getting used to....

Thanks for the advice. I think we actually saw it on one of your posts.

We're only booked in for 10 days though as we thought we were only coming for a holiday to validate visas, because we thought we would never sell the house. But we now have sale going through and fingers crossed it'll go smoothly.
