Averaging around 20 bucks an hour for first 8 hours, then time and half up to 10 hours then double time over 10 hours. 12 hour days + and 6 day weeks are the norm.

Thanks Fluffy - will tell hubby to stick it out down here then . Not keen on the long hours

Thats not good. I always thought truckies got decent money.

Ahhh, but they do!!!

What they forget to tell you though is that you have to work nearly 80 hours a week to earn it!

There is such a massive infrastructure boom going on here in QLD that most firms (we are talking construction type driving - agitators, tippers etc.....) are running 24/7 to try and keep up!)
