I do worry about the cops reaction here to that kind of thing - if you were to get nicked in the UK doing that sort of speed, you'll be in the poo for sure; but you'll be allowed to go home, and at the court case you'll probably get stiffed with a massive fine and a ban.

Here, I can just imagine it - guns drawn, helicopter overhead, spreadeagled over the hood, car impounded, night (days??!) in the cells - and thats before you get to court. Seriously, the cops worry me here on these "minor" offences, especially in country areas.

I've had a Range Rover before - and love them - but where we are theres no way I can warrant a 4litre minimum engine ..... plus It'd be nicked!

Much happier with a landy if its alright and doesnt have a terrible rep for breaking down

dont blame you they're a little too big for their boots. hence why I only got my new wee hot hatch up to 96.5 instead of the 140+ it can do easily

why would it be nicked? the new ones have those super duper passive responsive alarm systems that practically nuke anyone who comes near it.

LOL! nuke them .... the thieving bastards!

I refuse to buy anything near a new car out here, the salt air will strip it, the potholes will cripple it, the sand from the beach will clog it up, and then there's the kids, dogs, my driving and import duty (133% )

right now I have a 14 year old Toyota Landcruiser which is perfect but when we move islands next year we cant take it with us so I need some oldish - but new to me - wheels

A Landrover Defender is a must for you then. The only truely cool and useful 4x4! (que the onslaught of 4x4 lovers' rants)

Coming home from Miami a couple of years ago, we were doing about 85 mph and cars were just overtaking us like we were stood still. Some cars must have been doing at least 120 in some areas. Highway Patrol and local cops nowhere to be seen..
