Hi everyone. I really enjoyed our meetup on Rabbit Island a month ago and wondered if you'd all be up for another - plus anyone else who'd like to go along. So how about we arrange one during December? I am happy to go for either Sat or Sundays, depending on what is best for everyone else. Any comments?

Rabbit Island is the best place for a meet-up IMHO. The kids get to run around . There's the beach and the on-site BBQs make it easy.
This time I'll remember the beers

Let's go for Sun 16th Dec in the afternoon at Rabbit Island - unless there is a general preference for Tahunanui if it means more people can make it. Same place as last time? The union flag in the car last time (not sure who dd that?) was very helpful.
Is that going to be OK with everyone?

You would probably be "safer" at rabbit island with ya "beers" Bev than Tahuna isnt drinking in a public place now banned?
Shame i know but i'd hate to see you all getting arrested just b4xmas over a few beers lol

Yes. I think there has been a crack down on drinking in public places. It's banned over here in Mapua.
Rabbit Island seems to be an exception ,as there are always gatherings and parties there which seem to include alcohol. We went to one last weekend . A company Christmas 'do', complete with wine and beer.
Will speak to himself when he gets back from work Sandi. He's working loads extra in the run up to Christmas.
Aren't the Carols By Candlelight on at Washbourne Gardens that evening? Ours is over here in Mapua.

Many apologies as I didn't make it on Sunday. By the time the children woke up from their after lunch sleep it was 3.30 and as it was a grey day we thought everyone would have gone, rather than lingering as on a nce day. Hopefully meet another time.

We didn't make it either .
We had a steady trickle of friends visit Sunday p.m. & as we still had to finish the duckling pen, we had to knock it on the head. We didn't even get to the Carols in the Park, either in Richmond or here.
We'll catch up soon then Sandi.

I did not say we could definitely come Nelsonpom, if you look at my post.
As it was, we did have plans to make it once we had finished our duckling pen. Even had some beers this time. Circumstances prevented this ,that's all.
Our Hungarian friends were the last visitors. We may well have suggested they come with us to Rabbit Island to chill out for a bit , was it not for the nature of our conversation - their EOI rejection.
Last time there were a good six or so families there. Had I thought we were heavily letting someone down , then I would have sent out PMs. Couldn't txt or phone anyone as we do not have that information.
It's just one of those things that wasn't meant to be. Anyway, Rabbit Island is a great place to spend an afternoon with friends. It's just down the road from us too. 20 mins or so. Glad you had a good time & sorry you feel that way.

Sorry you're upset about Sunday. As I said by the time the kids woke up it was too late to go (and the sky looked ominious). Also not much point in posting anything on here as you'd have already been there! Tahuna or Rabbit Island are both fine with me by the way, for any future meetings, especially as I am pregnant so not being allowed to drink at Tahna is neither here nor there for me.
