Hi Cleri
That is so true, my neighbour in Portugal has our apartment key and she checks things are ok, takes our mail in and even waters my plants. In return i take out all the things she likes that she cant get in Portugal. (Brown sauce of all things is one of them)
One good turn deserves another as they say
Dont worry Trog you will soon get to know the people in our block's they are all very friendly and alcoholics to boot so you'll be fine.

Who for goodness sake puts brown sauce on their food when they are in Portugal and by the way just to correct your statement about not being able to get brown sauce in Portugal all those products are available in Tavira at Vital oposite the old market (but you might might have to pay a bit more and not get two for the price of one!!)

My neighbours have retired to Portugal and there are certain things that you just cant replace.

I prefer ketchup on my bacon sarnies although I will admit to putting brown sauce on them occasionally for a change - live dangerously I say

Hear hear. And we can listen to our wives and do something else at the same time as doing the aforementioned things.

We are coming out to Portugal (silver coast) in October with MRI.
We are planning on retiring in the next few years and want to see what the area is like.As anyone been on an inspection trip and not bought.

Can't help as our inspection trip was with Parador. Our rep told us that some people make a hobby of going on these trips with no intention at all of buying. Can't say I can see the fun in that though as you spend most of the four days in a car dashing around the countryside viewing properties. Okay so they feed and water you every day and you do get to see some of the sights but it ain't my idea of a restful break.

Yes I totally agree. They will not let you out of their sight. As I have said before they called my wife and I many, many times. Even hidng the numbers so we wouldn't know who it was. Now we have bought a property nobody has bothered to call us except to try and get another £500 from us for some after sales service which I think should be included.:curse::curse:

Yes they are persistent. We went to a show in London and they kept phoning us for weeks until I told them we had bought. That got rid of them

Judging by what i've read on here about MRI i'm glad we chose to go with Parador - at least we didn't have any pressure put on us to buy. We were given all the space we needed when we were deciding whether to go for the apartment we were interested in. Which i hasten to add we did buy and we definitely made the right decision
