Yes Im the same. I wouldnt say I love the Uk, we seem to be at that point where we need to decide, as you have, if this is our home.
We dont mind not being wealthy, we are pretty self suffient anyway. But when you cant afford to do anything, go anywhere, inc go home to see family, then something has to give. Plus the teens cant work here to earn thier own money.

I have three daughters, two are teenagers and the other nearly is and we struggle financially. Admittedly we pay huge property taxes and we have good schools but we are running through our savings.
I have a love hate relationship with the US. We really wanted to come (
) and waited 18months for our visa. Initially I felt we had made a mistake and being away from everyone and everything so suddenly was like a huge bereavement.Then it was OK, then earlier this year I hated it sooooo much I would have swum home.
My OH and children love it and it was horrible being the only one who didn't want to be here.
If I really insisited, my OH would go back to the UK but my eldest is going to college here in the Autumn and is so excited and I can't spoil it all for them so I decided to make the best of it.
I miss the UK and my life there but I was making myself ill over it.
We couldn't go back to our old area because of jobs for OH and that is a big thing for me. When and if I go back it will have to be when the job doesn't matter and we can go wherever we want.
I just wish we could buy a little place over there but we cannot afford to.

I can't comment on the USA but this whole issue of 'mass eastern eu immigration' is a total load of shit that you read about all the time but has no base in reality. I live in London and have met about 5 eastern europeans since I was born. The actual amount is so low its not worth thinking about, and even if it increases, who cares? Immigrants are not a bad thing. London is full of yanks and aussies and is not a worse place for it.

Hi, Im new here. We are realising we really dont want to be here (in the USA), but family keep telling us not to go back to the .....................................uk pound, which makes it impossible to save anything useful for moving back. We havent been back since we moved here and Im wondering if we could just be homesick, but that doesnt take the problems away. I could go on for days about the problems here lol

Make a list of what you want......what is important.....1 to 10. Which country ranks higher? Dont forget you are in New Jersey (its where NY sends all the garbage)
Thought of trying a different part of the country? Thought about changing your lives to accomodate things which make you happier? There are lots of ways to do that, depending on your circumstances........take it from someone who has been here a year or three myself......there is actually a rainbow after it pisses down for days.
