Well I can`t believe I am writing this , we received a phonecall from our agent yesterday saying we have been asked to submit our police checks and medicals, they are also requesting another reference as the copy they have was not very good quality,so fingers crossed we are on the home straight.
We applied under Skilled Australian Sponsered in Feb 2001, my husband is a car mechanic. We were truly resigned to a much longer wait, and so this news is very welcome!! Our agent has said he is not sure what is going on as he was under the impression, as many others are , that the visa quata is full, and so it may well be that we wait until July to actually receive the visa. I shall keep you updated. A very happy and still slightly shellshocked! Sarah |

This is the first great news for ages on this site (for us non- IT plebs anyway!). Do you think it is because you are sponsored? We are also sponsored, so hope this is the case!
Good luck, Sarah, and keep us posted, please. Andy. |

I will email 2 relatives( both teachers) of mine in Sydney and get back to the group . I do know that there is a big turnover of teachers in schools in Oz. which suggests that there are jobs available. A " new" teacher arriving in Oz may be required to to a period of time teaching outside the citys. I am not actually involved in immigration but I will see what I can find out.
