My husband and I like many others I think are seriously thinking of quitting britain in favour of France,we are both in our very late 50s so wouldn't be looking for jobs, trouble is I am diabetic on both insulin and tablets,my question is does anyone know anything about prescription costs etc we are thinking of Limousin as we visited this area in January and really liked it,I have done some research but it would be nice to get some advice from perhaps someone who is also diabetic.

Hi Denise1949
I am not diabetic so can't comment on that however my daughter has epilepsy, my son has asthma and I am on permanent medication for low blood pressure and migraines. A real healthy lot we are. Anyway, my point is that we all need regular medication. This has never been a problem, the cost does vary greatly, for example an asthma inhaler is about 5 euros and then one of my medication is about 18euros per month. We have a Carte Vitale though, not sure if you are familiar with this. This enables us to a reduction of 65% to 70% the exact amount varies depending on the treatment. Some hospital treatments are 100% discounted. Hope this helps Last edited by jdr : Mar 22nd 2007 at 5:27 pm. Reason: removed promotional url, put it in your signature. |
