They did a study in Africa recently which showed that circumcision reduced the risk of spreading AIDS. I am not sure of the specifics but I guess the virus can hang around in that extra inch or two of skin more easily than on the exposed version. My understanding is that you get less urinary tract infections if you have had the snip as well. That being said St Paul said it wasn't necessary to have it done after Christ came and made the second covenant which was opened to gentiles and Jews. I am with Paul on this one because it seems a lot like painful mutilation to me but in the US it is pretty standard although not as much as it used to be.

If we were expecting a boy when I was preggars, hubby started out just assuming he'd be getting circumcised as soon as he was born, pretty much. I had other ideas. I educated him and turned his opinion around. He was just ignorant of why it was done in the US. Thankfully we had a girl!

When I first saw my USC husband,I was shocked!,and asked him if he'd had an accident!!!LOL.....he was convinced I'd lost my 'marbles'!..he was just as horrified to discover most British guys didn't get 'done',then we had our son,and he was determined to get him curcumcised,but I said absolutely not..unless there was a medical reason.......he was real mad that I refused,until we took him for his check-up at my British Doctors office and I asked the doctor what he thought about it.........he said it was barbaric!.....so I told hubby,if he was still determined to get it done he could take him, on his own,to the Base doctors office and he could listen to his son screaming,for no reason......needless to say my son is still 'intact',and,at 20 years old VERY happy about it!........Sophia

Just because you didn't know any better doesn't make it ok. If not done for genuine medical reasons it is mutilation - as you say you would consider it that if it was an ear or a nose, so why not another body part. Is it just because it's usually hidden away? Is that what makes it "ok"?

How do you possibly know whether the majority of porn stars are circumcised? Surely the point of a porn film is that they have erections, if the foreskin is pulled back how would you be able to tell - you must be studying them very closely.

Perhaps you watch American porn with American actors who would have been circumcised pretty much as standard?
