Just spent my last morning at Sydney Olympic Pool where DD was competing in the All Schools swimming championships. She came 7th, so doesn't go through to the Australian Championships. However, she had to swim her race twice, as there was a technical cock-up. She'd given everything in her first attempt, so was a bit slower than normal. The coach said that having to re-race was the swimming gods telling her not to give up!!
Then she drove me home- a 45 minute nightmare, as what should have been light to moderate traffic turned into heavy snarl-ups. She only stalled once (35 hours under her belt in a manual car. but spread out over 6 months!) but both she and I were very tense - there was an accident in the roadworks, and 3 lanes were clogged and trying to get into her lane. Some pillock decided to go the wrong way down a one-way road too, and DD nearly went through a red light as she wasn't watching the lights because she was behind a big lorry. She did this twice, and was so panicked she almost forgot to steer!! I dropped her back at school, but she is like a limp rag, and it is double maths this afternoon. Poor thing. Just hope there were no cameras at the junctions.

Pretty pissed off for so early in the morning. Our bellend neighbours decided that 3:45 am was a good time to fill the recycling bin...One bottle at a time. 
I just got back to sleep when they decided at 4:20 that it was a good time to go out and assess whether there was any damage from last night's storm. Of course there wasn't since they don't have any trees nearby. By the time we got back to sleep it was time for the alarm to go off, so at 5:00 it was out of my nice warm bed.
I went to make a coffee and discovered that the old man used the last of it last night and didn't tell me. So now I'm sleep deprived and caffeine free. That, my friends is not a good combination for me.
Oh, and to make my day better, we have an appointment at my son's school at 7:15 so I'm going to be late for work. Dickhead principal has decided yesterday that he needs to see us this morning. The kid's not in trouble or anything, just that we need to meet with the school administration because it's a new school and the principal insists on meeting all new parents before their kids can attend the program. What, like he didn't know that 7 weeks ago when I signed my son up? Nob!
Forgot to say I went to put in my brand new contacts and the right one has a big chunk missing from it. Right out of the package, so back they go tomorrow.

Was meant to be off today but had to go in as the girl that covers my days off was sick.Had planned a lazy day by the fire watching the last few episodes of Offspring.Have now managed to watch them and looking forward to season four starting soon.
