What's the world coming to, when you can't say "sheep shaggers" anymore?
That's it. I quit. I'm off to find a commune!!

Sooo....let me get this right.....
You refuse to work....
You 'get by on 'donations' from people that have worked for their money....
And wonder why you weren't allowed into the US??

OK... so if you were living in the US....whose 'donations' would you be living off?
Give me a good old Mexican illegal anyday....they work hard, picking lettuce, washing dishes, painting houses, whatever that can, just to be able to send a bit of money home to their families....I see it daily here. I actually respect their work ethic.
Incidentally....I also refuse to work....but I'm retired after putting in 40 years' work for the privilege of 'getting by on donations'..(I prefer to call it a pension)
Incidentally....I became a US citizen very recently... along with 192 others, from 62 different countries.....
That's diversity, not racism!
I agree with bruceba, the guy had a lucky escape!!

However, it seems that the guy did not want to continue on with the “relationship,†but did not want to say it outright.
I dropped my job in the UK a while ago because I moved in with a community of young people that is sort of self sufficient. We grow our own food and we get stuff from donations through various events we put up like movies or talks. Therefore people in our community don't need to work.
What the H….?
well... i had 1000 dollars for 2 months and they said that was not enough. i know i can live with that amount of money anywhere for much more than 2 months. i find it really frustrating to have to convince someone that i can eat sandwiches for 2 months and do couch surfing. But i guess here we are talking about some pretty classist shit right?
I am a recent American and come from a country that saw its share of drop outs from the West come to pretend that they are tourists, when in reality they are indulgent, spoiled brats. To add insult to injury they were looking down upon those that created the roads, planes and trains they used to travel…
So, if you hate capitalism so much why are you living in Britain and want to come to the U.S.? Both states are very capitalistic and incidentally have less than one quarter the unemployment of Spain.
You are truly a socialist, you believe that some people are better than others!!!
If you were born here in the U.S. and had no choice but to live here then I would not have criticized your life style, but you chose a life style that is incompatible with the U.S. yet you want to come here and possibly marry the guy and live here … you are a socialist… are you not?
“potential agitator†my behind!!!

The reason they don't let someone who says they can live on $1000 for two months, has no job or legal address, and plans to couch surf their stay, in to the country is that the minute your money runs out (theft, idiocy, other), or you somehow get injured and require medical care, they know you have no means of fixing the situation yourself, or anyone within the US that they can turn to that will fix it for you without the American taxpayers somehow footing the bill.
