Asked already over in the Aussie forum (as that is where we are now trying to emigrate from)but can anyone on here recommend an agent with knowledge of the Scottish Common Law?
For the rehabilitation process we have had a lawyer in Canada retained on our behalf, but he is asking us to provide the basis of the Fraud law in Scotland to allow him to compare with the Canadian equivalent - and being Scottish common law (apparently totally different from the UK Fraud act law) it just doesn't seem to be anywhere on paper. Just don't know what I am supposed to give him
Already phoned legal library in Scotland and done countless internet searches but just not getting anywhere with it.
(this was from something that happened 19 years ago now so any paperwork I had is long gone and all public records have now been destroyed)

Hi
I can probably help as I am qualified as a lawyer in both Scotland and Canada (NS). Can you send me a PM with the details? Perhaps I could liase with your Canadian lawyer?
Happy to help if I can.
